Petcube will keep you linked to your furry friends

Pet owners who want to keep in touch with their little darlings when they're away should check out the Petcube, a magic box that will let them see and talk to their pets.

The Petcube is a small square box made out of glass and aluminum. Inside it has a wide-angle camera, a microphone, speaker, laser and Wi-Fi connector.

With the Petcube connected to a home Wi-Fi network, owners can see and talk to their pets, snap photos of them and use the laser to get them cranked up.

Developers of the Petcube say the first models will sell for about $200. They won't be available until spring, but you can pre-order one now for $149.
