SmartFaucet – New Gadget For Bathroom

Smart Faucet

Internet and high-tech gadgets have already penetrated in our life to an unbelievable level: cameras in belts, Bluetooth watches, electronic car keys finders and high technology is coming to our kitchens and bathrooms. iHouse presents a new gadget along its cell phone controlled bathtub that prepares an excellent bath with an only one phone call – SmartFaucet – which is one of those devices that are necessary, but the word “smart” makes it different from the ordinary faucets. The SmartFaucet by iHouse is highly convenient due to its characteristics: it has a face recognition technology. The essence of this technology is the following: the camera recognizes you and the faucet remembers different temperature settings for each member of your family and automatically adjusts the temperature of the water to the preferred level. The water is heated with a built-in internal heating coil, and, moreover, there are LEDs which change the color of the water from blue to red to show its temperature. Additionally, a completely new feature, the users will have the access to their e-mail. There is a touchscreen display on the faucet which enables you to check your calendar, e-mail and the outside temperature. There is no information concerning the SmartFaucet availability and price, but we may suppose it would be rather expensive.

Air Guitar pro: no strings attached

air guitar gadget

Fancy yourself an aspiring rock star, but have no instrumental talent? That’s okay, thanks to this new gadget from Japan’s TakaraTomy. The Air Guitar Pro starts out looking like the end of a guitar neck, but that’s where the resemblance ends. The rest of the guitar is nowhere to be found. You play the Air Guitar by holding your fingers on chord buttons on the fretboard, and then strumming in the air. It works its magic by using infrared sensor in the neck of the guitar to detect your hand motions. While the battery-operated Air Guitar does have a built in speaker, you can also connect it to an external amplifier when you want to crank up the volume.

Apple iPhone 4 official, has HD but no 4G

iphone
With leaks coming from California bars to Taiwanese manufacturing plants, the newest iPhone 4 release by Apple will definitely go down in history as one of the worst kept secrets the company has ever had. Was it all marketing, or just carelessness? No one will ever know, but legal actions against Gizmodo for revealing the device ahead of schedule can only lead us to believe it wasn’t intended. At the WWDC today Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone 4 and it appears to be just as we thought it would. A front facing camera allows you two-way video communication over VoIP with other iPhone 4 users, this is done through a new app called FaceTime (see video below). HD video (720p / 30fps) can be recorded on the back side camera with the new iMovie app that will cost an extra $5. Still shots have been upgraded with a 5 megapixel sensor and 5x digital zoom from the rear which is accompanied by an LED flash. The best upgrade yet seems to be in the display, still at 3.5-inches but completely revamped offering 4x the pixel count over previous 3GS models. This is (960 x 640) rated at 326ppi which Steve calls “Retina Display,” meaning it’s much sharper than your eye can even see. Contrast ration is 800:1 and it’s an IPS similar to the iPad. That’s not all it has in common with it’s oversized counterpart, the A4 chip which powers this beast. Battery life is boosted to 40 hours of music playback, 10 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing, 10 hours of video, 7 hours of 3G talk time, and 6 hours of 3G browsing; of course this is the rating, we’ll see what real world use gives us. Wireless is through the traditional GSM and UMTS, improving Wi-Fi to 802.11n. AT&T is still the carrier, no Sprint or Verizon, sorry folks. Software is running the iPhone OS 4, which has now been cleverly named iOS4. The “Core Motion” API gives the new gyroscope six axis of motion control between the gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass. Not sure how this will be used, but we can only suspect more advanced apps that allow for precision motion response. Available in White or Black, with the 16GB model selling for $199 and 32GB for $299, you can expect them at your local AT&T shop for June 24th. Pre-orders for the USA, UK, France, Germany, and Japan start in one week. If this is all a bit too advanced for you, the 3GS model will drop to $99. You can also say goodbye to the 3G.

Visteon to unveil wireless charger for your car at CES

wireless
Visteon, better known for delivering high-quality audio equipment for vehicles, will be showing off a wireless charger for portable electronics at CES. We have few details other than that, but we can tell you that the charger will plug into (what else?) the cigarette lighter in your car or truck. No more rushing from wall outlet to wall outlet. You can tell from the photo that the charger will support devices from nano iPods to PDAs and even digital cameras. You can also tell from the photo that the charger is a bright shade of green. We can’t wait to see how that green looks when bright sunlight hits it. One question we have off the top of our heads: Will you be able to listen to tunes while you charge that MP3 player? In the same vein, will you be able to use that GPS device while you’re keeping it juiced up?

Really Cool Portable GPS Tracker

gps track

This must be one of (if not the) coolest spy gadgets I’ve ever reported on. It’s sort of a cross between a USB memory stick and a GPS receiver and what it does is store where ever you take it on the flash memory.

The Portable GPS Tracker is pretty small so you could either always carry it on you or use it in 007 spy mode by planting it on a person or vehicle you want to monitor. You may be wondering how you retrieve the stored info and secret routes, well that’s where it gets really cool.

Once the tracker has done it’s travels and it’s back in your possession you simply connect it to you PC and download the data. This data can then be plotted on Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com and Virtual Earth to show exactly where it’s been, how long it took and how it got there.

I just think this is so cool (may of said cool a record number of times in this post) it obviously has the spy functionality of tracking somebody else but to me it is even more useful for tracking your own holidays and backpacking adventures. So not only can you bore visitors with your holiday snaps you can also show them exactly where you went.

Full feature list:

  • Records time, date, location, speed, direction and altitude
  • Works with Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com, Virtual Earth
  • Location points are downloaded into its software and then mapped
  • Battery duration is 5 to 7 days of typical operation with 4,000 records
  • Requires 2 AAA batteries (not included)
  • Dimensions: 4″ x 1 1/4″ x 3/4″
  • Comes with TrackStick, lanyard, software CD
